Sometimes there is nothing better in the world than a weekend with your best friends, the girls that you’ve known forever and the girls that have you laughing until you’re in tears. Just getting to go away and be together–anywhere, doesn’t matter– is the best feeling. This weekend we went to San Francisco and Napa Valley, CA, and as usual I’ve fallen in love with both of these places all over again. Every time I travel here I experience the strangest sensation… It’s as if I were coming home after being away for many years. The vineyards have this sense of familiarity that is indescribable and even the first morning I felt emotional when I was exploring the land my friend lives on when I came across a few grape vines…somewhere in between being nostalgic of this possible unknown past and be really inspired for the future. The morning light trickled through their leaves and made each nearly ripened grape glow a different color. Could be a past life thing, or maybe I’m destined for a future in the wine making business and it’s an intuition situation…either way I absolutely LOVE this part of the country and hope to move here at some point, hopefully soon. I am lucky enough to be staying in my friends home in Tiburon, California which is in between San Francisco and Napa, and it is a stunning piece of paradise! I’ve been waking up early every morning to go on little hikes and every day there is something new and beautiful to appreciate, whether it’s a view of the bay or a hummingbird having breakfast or big red pomegranates ripe on their tree. This afternoon we made it to St. Helena in Napa to do some wine tasting and to stay with another friend for the evening. I’m convinced this is the most special, romantic and lovely place on earth.
