As I get older I realize how much my small home town of Vero Beach, Florida has to offer. It is a quiet place that may lack the certain speed and culture of my favorite cities, but it is clean, safe, and beautiful. It was the perfect place to grow up and I love coming back here for breaks and weekends. It so happened that this weekend two of my best friends came home too, and we were lucky enough to spend the last four days together. The girls and I realized that we haven’t spent this much time together in years, being that we all went in different directions after high school. The whole weekend I was laughing and enjoyed doing “Vero” things (think drinking wine at sunset, eating at our favorite local haunts, beach walks, baking cookies, rain dances, and island bar hopping), instead of trying to drive down to Miami or somewhere else like we had planned. We all just wanted to absorb our simple environment, and each other.
