dig deep

{ On Sunday I drove down to Boca Raton to speak at the Hilton Honors Charitable Golf Series Boca Raton Resort & Club East Coast Qualifying Event that benefitted Make-A-Wish South Florida (what a title!). My mom came to support and we were able to stay the night and spend time together before we went our separate ways the next day. I was asked to speak last minute and as always, I said yes immediately. Make-A-Wish is something I will always want to help with, give my time too, and contribute to in any way that I can. I really believe this foundation changed my life. Well, I know it did. So I got up in front of more or less 150 golfers and told them my story. Before I spoke the announcer asked the crowd to “Dig deep”. And although I always hope that they will when they donate their money, what I more want them to do is to fully understand the impact of a single wish on a child’s life. Hopefully I got a few people thinking. There was a silent auction before, and a live auction after. Both went well and my mom and I ended the evening with a trip to Serendipity 3 located in the hotel. What a night! }

{ My mom pointed out to me after that I looked like an angel. I even had wings! }20120917-155409.jpg{ Helping out with the live auction. Each safe had a secret surprise inside. I wanted the trip to Europe! Ironically I did end up winning the raffle, which was a basket of office supplies. Hellloooo post it notes. }20120917-155425.jpg{ Frozen Hot Chocolate }

    1. What a lovely evening that must have been. It is wonderful for you to continue your support of “Make A Wish Foundation.” I can remember when it was first formed, and I can well remember when you became ill. All of the Hanks families offered many prayers for your recovery, and kept informed on your progress. You are a “little miracle child.” Congratulations. Love, Dama
