Today I discovered Buttercream Cupcakes, a small and simple bakery that sells only cupcakes, really good cupcakes. When I walked into the cute pink shop, my senses were happily greeted with all sorts of visual and aromatic delight. Rows and columns of little cakes showed off the day’s available flavors, and the the room smelled of fresh buttercream. I knew that I wanted chocolate, because I almost always do, so I ordered a chocolate cupcake, and a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting. Two is perfectly acceptable when trying out a new bakery. Both cakes were super moist, with tender crumbs, mini chocolate chips running throughout, and each with their own special frosting. Creamy and decadent, yet light and fluffy. The peanut butter version reminded me of a very gourmet and special Reeses cup. Such a wonderful discovery!
